Battlefield 1943 not coming to PC (This year)

The release date for BF1943 was actually creeping up quickly with a planned release on August 31st this year. It has been pushed back though. Way back. A little more after the jump.
It's not a huge problem to release it later since they are adding a lot for PC users. Like better DirectX support and higher player count.
Unfortunately the release is actually Q1 2010. That's quite a push back for some features that should've been in development since the announcement of the game.

I enjoyed BF1942 and to a lesser extent BF2, considering how buggy both games were when they were released I hope that DICE and EA will get it right with this one. Even if it takes a bit longer.
Yeah, they were buggy. But at least I could play the game without it crashing every two minutes like STALKER and any Ubisoft game now.
That's unfortunate. I loved S.T.A.L.K.E.R! It remains one of my favorites.
The HUD bob gave me headaches but once I got used to it, it was so amazingly atmospheric. I really did lose myself in the game like some people do with a good book.
When it the thunderstorms would come in game, I'd crank up the volume and watch. I've never seen a game do better weather effects.
I got to play it in the end. Once I got my recent computer I got my chance, but with the old computer (could play the majority of games out there but at low settings - COH for example) I had a ton of problems.
Crashed every 30 minutes, had to play on lowest resolution, graphics available, saves couldn't be loaded by quick loading, difficulty level would ramp up to insane from easy, all the regular glitches and stuff.
In the end I did like it but it was a pain in the ass for about a year. I'm looking forward to playing Clear Sky but I'm definitly waiting for a very cheap price.
Clear Sky is nothing special. Basically the same thing with real time faction wars.
Now all this talking about Stalker has made me want to play it again.
They probably didn't start on the PC only features until recently. They probably made the mistake of announcing the release date to soon.
Some people get annoyed about late release dates. I don't. It sucks that it wont be coming out right now, but I'll forget about it and when the release date comes out - Ill get exicted.
The only time waiting kills me is the week of the release date when I know it's close. Release dates that are months away don't bother me. I got other shit to do.
In the end, I'm looking forward to the game. I loved BF1942 when I got it late. I didn't play much of it because I didn't have the computer to play it (bought it when I was near a better computer) and when I finally got it a new computer, BF2 was right around the corner. It's going to be a fun game, the demo is damn good.
