I feel like I’ve played a vastly different variety of games from most other people participating in these articles.  Aside from a few purchases I was already planning, most of the new games I’ve played this year have been the ones I’ve reviewed, meaning all those indie gems.  A ton of them are on sale right now, too, if you’re interested.  Anyway, I hope my picks can be appreciated, even if they might not all have been the big titles of the year.  These are the ones I enjoyed the most in 2009.

There are some great savings on games on Steam this weekend.  Yesterday we had a little treat with the Lucasarts Jedi Knight pack being released.  Today, we get grand news from a few companies.  Interplay for you retro junkies and for those of you who got a chance to read Ag3nt's review on Majesty, it's sequel Majesty 2 came out today.  Hit the jump for pricing and details.

Let's get this straight from the beginning: I have never played a Monkey Island game.  I got my fair share of LucasFilms/Arts playing Day of the Tentacle when I was about 8 years old, but that was the extent of their adventure games it until now.  So you could say I'm familiar with the genre, company, and interface, but the world, humor, and storyline were totally new to me.
